Since 1997, children and families around the world have made furry friends and memories at Build-A-Bear Workshop. Our corporate mission is to “Add a little more Heart Illustration to life” and we live it every day. From the first day of school to blowing out candles on the birthday cake, our furry friends have been right there. They also have given hugs after a scraped knee or a visit to the doctor. When a child is sick, scared or lonely and reaches for their teddy bear, Build-A-Bear is there.

COVID-19 RESPONSE

Build-A-Bear Foundation seeks to add a little more Heart Illustration to life by sharing hugs and making days a little bit brighter for those in need. Our hearts are with everyone impacted by COVID-19 as we navigate this extraordinary time together. We firmly believe in the importance of the comfort and security that furry friend can provide during stressful times and we are committed to our mission to add a little more heart to life.

Build-A-Bear Foundation is honored to support relief efforts around the world, with a focus on St. Louis, MO, home to World BearQuarters, Columbus, OH, site of the BearHouse, and London, UK, the location of Build-A-Bear Europe. We are also committed to donating at least 50,000 teddy bears in 2020.

We have purchased more than 120,000 protective masks for healthcare workers in these communities as well as donated funds to the St. Louis Community Foundation, the Columbus Foundation, the American Red Cross, and Baby2Baby in support of their COVID-19 relief efforts.

    National Teddy Bear Day Logo

    National Teddy Bear Day

    In recognition of National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A-Bear has donated nearly 65,000 teddy bears since 2016. Donations were made to the NSPCC, Childhood First, and other children’s charities in the UK as well as the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.
